At each meeting, members decide the topic. They offer an opportunity for residents to learn how the business operates and to support us to deliver messages to other residents, while providing us with key information to help us improve.
Corporate Lead for Safeguarding, Brea Attrill, recently attended one of the meetings to explain how safeguarding concerns are raised and how they’re investigated (read more here). Residents advised us which words or phrases they didn’t understand, and what information we could add to improve our communication.

The forum has also helped us create a magazine for all supporting independence and care residents. They decide on the content and help us to deliver it in a style that’s easy to read and understand.
Residents told us they wanted to build safer communities within their schemes and homes, we listened to this and shared information on protecting yourself from scams in our latest issue.
The building safer communities work will continue at our next meeting.
“These types of forums are vital to our organisation, they provide us with valuable feedback from residents and what matters most to them.
The SAF is also a great way to tell residents what we’ve been working on and gain their feedback on our outcomes.”
