If you’re feeling inspired by Roger’s journey and want to get organised yourself, spring symbolises a new start and is the perfect time to refresh your home with a spot of decluttering.
Here are our top tips to keep decluttering VERY simple this spring:
1. Start small – work on one room at a time instead of trying to sort through the entire house all at once, it’s much less overwhelming!
2. Use a timer – decide how long you’re going to spend decluttering and set the timer on your phone or oven. It’ll stop you getting lost and overwhelmed and will keep you motivated. You’ll be amazed at how much you can achieve in 30 minutes.
3. Ask yourself three questions - take an honest look at each item in the space you’re working on and ask yourself if you truly need it, use it regularly, or if it holds sentimental value.
4. Use the three-box method - have three boxes labelled ‘keep’, ‘donate’ and ‘throw away’, and sort every item into one of these categories.
