Graham Sussex

“Hello, I’m Graham Ellis and I serve on the Sussex Residents Panel and live on Tilling Green Estate in Rye. I attend regular meetings with Southern Housing and am always willing to share updates with anyone interested in what our housing association is doing at a national and local level.

There’s some exciting news regarding events that local Rye residents are organising. Each month, on the third Saturday from 10am-12pm at Tilling Green Community Centre, neighbours are invited to enjoy tea, cakes, and a chat. This is a great opportunity to share your ideas and concerns about local issues. Council members and service representatives are also there to give support.

We also now have our own Tilling Green community garden and on the first Monday of each month from 10am-12pm we get together. Everyone is welcome to participate in planting, harvesting, and weeding or merely to take some of the produce home.

Loads of new activities are in the works for our community in the next year, including a local fruit tree planting project, music and dance classes, and the revival of the popular Tilling Green festival/fete for 2025.

Anyone wanting more information or willing to join our Tilling Green Residents Association, helping make our neighbourhood a safer and more vibrant community, please contact me at alohajuggler@gmail.com or the chair, Dan Lake at daniellake8@hotmail.com.”
