In June, staff at Servite House opened their communal garden to the public, to help raise funds for the Stroke Association.
One of 17 gardens in the area which threw open its gates as part of St Bernards in Bloom, residents and staff were proud to show off the fruits of their labour and welcome visitors to their garden for the first time.
Green fingered gardeners, Sue, Breda, Dee, and Jim have worked hard, planting, painting, and cutting back shrubs, so it was lovely for them to see visitors enjoying the garden, and the results of their hard work, too.
They had a great day chatting with their likeminded visitors, many of whom didn’t know the scheme was there and were surprised to see such a wonderful haven of serenity hiding behind the bushes.
On the day they raised an excellent £300.00, contributing to the total £11,000 raised by the whole project to date.
Everyone really came together to make the event a success, from those who donated, to those who helped on the day. And of course, those who worked so hard on the garden. Well done all!
