A four-week cooking course in Hackney has brought residents together to learn about healthy cooking and socialise with their community.
When members of the local pantry expressed an interest in learning about how to prepare healthy meals, our Social Impact Team went about exploring some options.

Make Mauro's sweet potato brownies
Craving a sweet treat but cutting down on sugar? Try these simple brownies!
You’ll need:
• 1kg sweet potatoes (weight after cooked and peeled)
• 100 grams tahini (change for peanut butter, if you like)
• 100 grams cocoa powder
• 100 grams almond flour (or plain flour, if you like)
• 100 grams rice syrup (agave, honey, or granulated sugar works too)
Method:
• Bring a large pot of water to the boil and cook the potatoes until soft (around 30 mins)
• Once cooked, remove the potatoes from their skin and mash them until soft
• Add tahini, cocoa powder, almond flour and syrup, and combine until smooth
• Pour the brownie mix into a lined ovenproof dish and spread to cover the surface
• Bake at 180 degrees for around 20-30 minutes
