During a kitchen renovation in November 2024, we discovered Mark had never owned a cooker. Instead, he’d been relying solely on a microwave to prepare his meals.
Realising how much this impacted his quality of life, we teamed up with contractor Chas Berger to help him out. Together, we arranged for Mark to receive a new electric cooker, giving him the chance to enjoy healthier, home-cooked meals.
The cooker was delivered and installed in his home. Mark was overjoyed and said:
“I thank you so much for giving me a new cooker. For many years, I never had one. Today, I’ll get my friend to cook me a chicken roast. Thank you, all of you, for all you have done.”
Abdelkader Salem, Resident Liaison Officer, added:
“Seeing Mark's reaction when the cooker was installed was truly heartwarming, and I'm proud we've played a part in enhancing our resident's daily living. The cooker has already made a huge difference!”
