We recognise residents' lived experiences and insights are invaluable for creating change. We now have:
- A new resident governance structure.
- Four resident places on our board.
- Achieved a positive consumer rating as part of our regulatory judgement.
- A resident Chair of the G15 Residents Group.
- A resident governance member on the Tenants Participation Advisory Service (Tpas) Board.
- Held two joint Resident Strategy Group and Southern Housing board days.
- Held 79 Resident Panel meetings.
- Engaged over 118 resident governance members.
- A suite of training and development opportunities for resident governance members.
- Hosted a Tpas Networking Event to share best practices.
Strategic Approvals
Through co-creation, residents have helped us design better services and strategies, approving:
- A new contractor to deliver repairs and maintenance services in London.
- A Fire Safety strategy.
- Our Sustainability strategy.
- Our Social Impact statement along with the Resident Involvement strategy statement.
- 15 resident policies through the Resident Policy Panel.
- The Scrutiny Panel Framework.
Scrutiny Milestones and Projects
We are the first housing association to achieve the Scrutiny Assured Quality Mark from The Tenants Participation Advisory Service, recognising our excellence and good practice in the scrutiny function.
Our Scrutiny Panel have reviewed several key areas:
- Damp and Mould Management: Assessing our current handling of damp and mould issues and have proposed 11 recommendations for improvement.
- Website Effectiveness: Evaluating our website's performance, suggesting 12 recommendations to enhance communication and accessibility.
- Tenant and Resident Associations: Examining our methods of involving and supporting residents and provided 13 recommendations for improvement.

Our commitment to resident involvement is the foundation of Southern Housing. We are dedicated to building on these achievements, ensuring that our residents' voices are heard in every aspect of our work. Residents' insights are crucial to our progress and the services we deliver, and we will continue to create an environment where residents’ contributions lead to meaningful change.
