Residents from 22 Argyll Street, one of our care homes for people with learning disabilities on the Isle of Wight, traded their usual annual peaceful holiday in the New Forest for something a bit livelier.

Seeking some soulful sounds and smooth grooves, Andy, Renita, Adam, Caroline and Michael, headed to Butlins in Bognor Regis for a Soul Weekender.

The group were accompanied by staff on their long weekend, that saw them strolling along the seafront, thrill seeking on the rides and dancing the night away.

The whole weekend was great fun, but the legendary Saturday night fancy dress was a highlight. There were high fives and photo opportunities galore, as well as plenty of singing along and dancing.

Some much-needed rest and recuperation followed once home, but there’s already talk of going back next year. We’re not sure the New Forest will be on the cards for a while…
