Christmas is a time for coming together with family and friends, and that’s no different in our extra care schemes.
Celebrating the start of the festive season, residents of Ryde Village on the Isle of Wight got together for a Christmas dinner, complete with an optional festive jumper dress code!
The hungry guests gathered in the communal dining room, which was decorated for the occasion, and tucked into a traditional turkey dinner, with all the trimmings, followed by mince pies.
Registered Manager, Sam Cronnelly, organised the event, as she wanted to give the residents an opportunity to socialise together over the festive period.
She said: “Being together with friends is really important at this time of year, particularly for older people who may struggle with feelings of loneliness.
“We love to give our residents plenty to get involved with, if they want to. And this was a hugely successful event with a big turn out, it was great to see so many residents together, laughing and chatting all afternoon!”
