Christmas can be a difficult time for people facing homelessness, or living in temporary accommodation, but an evening of festive fun ensured Christmas spirit is in full swing for residents of our homeless pathway programme.
Spreading seasonal cheer aplenty, residents on the Isle of Wight got together to spruce up Sandham House, ready for the upcoming festivities.
The spent an evening putting up their tree and decking the halls, before indulging in a festive buffet. They also enjoyed a spot of Christmas crafting, making their own cards and extra decorations to hang around the home.
Sarah Watkinson, Support Services Manager for the programme said: “Christmas can be a really challenging time for our residents, there’s the perception that everyone else is having a great time together, and they’re alone.
“As a team, we’re here to support them 365 days a year, through the challenges of day-to-day life and the special celebrations and holidays. Helping them to enjoy a traditional homely Christmas is just a small part of that.”
