Honouring those who are real-life superheroes and chose a career that helps others, residents and staff at 22 Argyll Street, our care home on the Isle of Wight, got together to celebrate Superhero Day with some sausages in the sunshine.
Learning Disability Worker, Jess McGaw, designed and made some t-shirts for everyone to wear, with Captain America, Spiderman, Batman and Robin and Superman all making an appearance.
The house was decorated especially for the occasion and with the arrival of the spring sunshine, the barbecue was fired up. Hero, MasterChef Mocko, whipped up a batch of banging burgers, fit for any crime fighter.
There was also plenty of action-packed activities on offer, including a game of bingo, and all residents were presented with their own certificate.
Speaking of the event, Ashley Barrier-Close, Registered Manager at 22 Argyll Street said: “This was another amazing, themed day at Argyll Street, made even better with the great weather. We’re looking forward to organising more activities over the summer.”
Superhero Day takes place each year and aims to recognise real life superheroes, people who help others in their role.
