Residents seas the day with a trip to the coast
With summer having finally arrived, residents of Furze Brake, one of our supported homes for older people on the Isle of Wight, headed out on a day trip to enjoy some long-awaited vitamin sea in the sun.
Accompanied by staff, they spent the day at a rather gusty Shanklin seafront, but they didn’t let a bit of wind bother them. They tucked into a traditional seaside lunch of fish and chips, then spent the afternoon in the arcades, embracing a bit of competitive fun, to try and win some prizes.
Speaking of the outing, one of the residents, who has recently moved to Furze Brake, said: “It was a lovely day and I really enjoyed it. We had a chat about Shanklin in the past. I haven’t walked this far in seven years!”
