Our partnership project Heart of Sidley (HOS) has been successful in securing over £19 million Levelling Up Funds (LUF) in partnership with Rother District Council (RDC) and De La Warr Pavilion (DLWP).
This community led partnership saw involved residents, including Linda Seddon (former resident board member) meet the Secretary of State to celebrate securing the funds.
Southern Housing have over 1500 homes in the Sidley area (East Sussex) and the secured Levelling Up Funds will make a huge difference to our residents in the area.
A portion of these funds will help create crucial community facilities in Sidley, a Big Local area and one of the most deprived wards in the country.
Heart of Sidley will transform an old building at Sidley Recreation Ground into a state-of-the-art community hub and sports facilities. The project is a culmination of community work by Heart of Sidley, involving residents in consultation and design of the community facilities.
Jay Carroll, Chair of Heart of Sidley: “We want local people to have as much opportunity as possible to be actively involved, and to feel proud to be part of a community with such a commitment to its future.”
Southern Housing is very much look forward to continuing to support Heart of Sidley on this exciting new project and continuing to strengthen our connections for the benefit of local residents.
