As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and the environment here at Southern Housing we are observing Plastic Free July.
The month gets millions of people around the world to be part of the plastic solution and not the problem by not using single-use plastics and choosing more environmentally friendly options.
Did you know?
1 in 3 fish caught for human consumption contains plastic?
Why is Plastic Free July important?
Plastic is one of the largest global environmental issues at the moment. Every year millions of tonnes of plastic waste ends up in our oceans. July is the month where awareness of this issue is raised and it offers everyone the chance to take steps to reduce their plastic footprint.
What are our Sustainability Team doing?
Kerry Briffit, Biodiversity and Sustainability Lead said: “As part of our Environmental Sustainability Strategy, we’re looking at plastic use across our offices, to identify how we can be more sustainable in our working environment."
Reducing your plastic footprint
Reducing your plastic footprint doesn’t have to be difficult, here are some simple changes that can have a big impact this July.
